Ollie,

I caught a largemouth bass today and considered having it stuffed for mounting on my wall.  When I mentioned this to the group I was with, they all laughed and assured me I’d see much bigger bass before the day was over.  Ollie the largemouths these fellas pulled out of the water were Huge!  The Savannah River has a bunch of creeks feeding into it crammed full of cypress trees, logs and stumps.  They are chocked full of largemouth bass which bed down and feed amongst all that cypress.  We were out in the river fishing from a boat casting into the mouth of these creeks as far up them as we could reach.  Really all that involved was casting spinnerbaits at cypress knees and around stumps to draw the bass out.  But Ollie, we would have been better off bank fishing the creeks with a worm, so we could slowly work all that dense cover as we came to it.  Here’s the one I caught:

This was too small, so I threw it back!

Also, they told me about some of the small barrier islands accessible only by boat where they hunt deer, feral hogs, turkey and squirrel!  You have to come down, amigo.  I’m going to be opening the bar in the fall, and Sean has already agreed to come down and work the season down here.  You should join him, and I’ll set you a generous hourly rate paid in cash.  Plus it’ll be deer season!  Take a break from the city and come down where the hunting, fishing and money are everywhere.  Come on down Cha Cha.

Never forget; You Are My Son!
