How to Make an Aviation Cocktail
It’s time for a fancy cocktail. The Aviation is an opportunity to showcase your top-shelf gin and its floral juniper notes. If you’re able to lay hands on Creme de Violette liqueur then you’ll be able to produce a visually appealing purple cocktail. The Aviation provides a wonderful opportunity to upsell your gin drinking guests into enjoying a classy alternative. So put on your white gloves and let’s get going.
Grab a martini glass and fill with ice. Set aside.
In an ice-filled cocktail shaker combine:
2 ounces of quality Gin (Bluecoat American Gin is recommended)
1/3 oz. of Cherry Liqueur (Luxardo Maraschino is recommended)
1/2 oz. of fresh lemon juice
Shake ingredients vigorously for 12-14 seconds.
Dump the ice out of the martini glass and strain contents from cocktail shaker into the chilled martini glass.
If available drizzle 1/4 oz. of Creme de Violette into the cocktail otherwise, change the amount of Cherry Liqueur used above to 1/2 oz.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
Now you have an elite cocktail in your drink building arsenal, so use it to turn that tip jar into gold.
