How to Make a Tom Collins
Nothing cuts the heat and humidity like a tall slender glass filled with a Tom Collins cocktail over ice. So famous and beloved they named the glass it is served in after the classic drink. This gin-based treat is refreshingly sweet and bubbly for those hot and thirsty gullets lining the bar. Here is how to make one.
Grab a Collins glass, or a highball, and fill with ice. Set aside.
In an ice-filled cocktail shaker combine:
1.5 ounces of Gin
½ of a Lemon’s Juice
½ ounce of Simple Syrup
Shake ingredients vigorously for 10-12 seconds.
Strain contents from cocktail shaker into the ice-filled Collins or highball glass. Top up the drink with soda water before stirring a few times. Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.
Serve them with a smile and watch them fly across the bar.
Cheers!
