How to Make a Long Island Iced Tea
One of the essential drinks you’ll need to know how to make is a Long Island Iced Tea. It calls for a little of everything off the speed rail of well liquors. You’ll serve it in any number of glasses with pint glasses or beer mugs being the most common. Some behind the bar are able to pour off all five liquors at the same time and give the guest a show. Unless they are exceptionally coordinated this show usually leads to overpouring and waste. But enough of the chit chat. Let’s take a look at how to make one.
Grab a pint glass, mug, or Collins glass and fill 2/3 of the way with ice and set aside.
In a cocktail shaker filled most of the way with ice add:
½ oz. of well tequila
½ oz. of well vodka
½ oz. of well gin
½ oz. of well rum
½ oz. of triple sec
½ oz. of simple syrup
2 oz. of sour mix off the soda gun.
Shake ingredients vigorously for 10-12 seconds.
Strain your shaken ingredients into the ice filled glass and top up with an ounce of Coca-Cola from the soda gun. ( You can give the drink a few stirs to mix in the Coca-Cola, but I leave the Coke floating on top for visual appeal. )
Garnish with a wedge of lemon or lime or both and a straw.
Cheers!
