How to Make a London Vesper
When your eyes itch and rubbing them feels like sandpaper, you know that Spring is in full effect. Now is the time to have plenty of warm weather cocktails on hand to dazzle and amaze. And it wouldn’t hurt if those cocktails are simple and easy to make. Today’s cocktail is the Duke of London Vesper. It is classy, sassy, and easily prepared. Let’s get to it.
Grab a martini glass and fill with ice. Set aside.
In an ice-filled cocktail shaker combine:
1.5 ounces of quality Gin (Oxley Gin is recommended)
1.5 ounces of quality Vodka (Russian Standard is recommended)
½ ounce of Lillet Blonde
Shake ingredients vigorously for 15 seconds. Set aside.
Make a wide orange twist and set aside.
Dump the ice out of the martini glass and strain contents from cocktail shaker into the chilled martini glass.
Tighten the orange twist and squeeze across the top of the cocktail before dropping the twist into the drink itself.
This cocktail combines gin, vodka, and Lillet which packs a 17% ABV making it delicate but strong. So make sure to shake for the full fifteen seconds as the dilution with ice tames the drink for your guests.
